Walk Tonbridge Festival

16 September to 01 Oct 2023

A celebration of walking, Tonbridge, community and countryside.

Join us for the third Walk Tonbridge Festival - two weeks of guided walks and community events as we look to raise funds for Sustain food and fuel bank, a vital local charity.

Guided Walks

Once more we have curated a selection of guided walks in and around Tonbridge for you to enjoy over the festival period.

New walks for 2023 include ‘Step Back In Time’ - a family friendly history walk, ‘Connection’ - a walk with Lisa Nicholls ‘The Burnout Counsellor’, and ‘Where Wheels Once turned’ a history walk exploring the history of our towns mills.

Returning again this will be our Nordic walking lessons, the sell out ‘Crime and Punishment Walk’ with Pam Mills, and our very own sunrise social.

All walks are being led by local experts that have volunteered their services so we can money for our charity partner Sustain.

The Fringe

Walk Tonbridge has always been more than just walking, its about history, countryside and community.

The Fringe celebrates these values with a series of special events that showcase our towns creativity and community spirit.

This year we return to Tonbridge School with our photography exhibition ‘Wild Tonbridge’, the Magic Forest wishing tree trail will be decorating Meadow Lawn once more and our pop up tea Orchard room is back in Hildenborough.

The Marathon

Supported by CooperBurnett Solicitors and in collaboration with our local pubs, the third Walk Tonbridge marathon welcomes brave walkers to take on a challenging 26.2 mile sponsored walk around Tonbridge and its surrounding countryside.

You can enter as an individual or a teams, so this is an opportunity to bring friends, family or colleagues together.

You’ll begin your walk with coffee and a bacon roll at Tonbridge Baptist Church and finish at Tonbridge Old Fire Station, Tonbridge, where you can put your feet up for a drink with friends and family, and have the opportunity for a footcheck with a trained podiatrist.

Our Charity Partner

Over the past few years the cost of living has soared, making food and fuel poverty a harsh reality, even here in Tonbridge.

Sustain food and fuel Bank is run by Tonbridge Baptist Church and provides emergency assistance for Tonbridge residents facing short term need.

Each week they provide an average of 80 emergency food parcels, helping families that may otherwise miss a meal.

Our Supporters

The Walk Tonbridge Festival is a not for profit community event which has been made possible with the generosity and support of CooperBurnett solicitors, Absolute Creative Print, Hilden Park Chartered Accountants, The Escape Art Centre, Fit Feet Podiatry and Tonbridge School.

All of these local businesses have donated their time and resources so that we can provide Tonbridge with this celebration of walking community and countryside.
