Join local historian Mark Ansdell for ‘Walking The Fosse', a history walk exploring the Fosse and its historical significance.
This short but informative walk will take you on a journey through Mediaeval Tonbridge, to a time when this was a fortified town. The castle was its stronghold, but the whole of the small settlement outside the castle gates was protected against intruders by a substantial ditch-and-bank structure known today as the 'Fosse'.
Starting at The Big Bridge, you will walk the full length of the Fosse, taking in it’s history and learning of the towns development from Medieval times.
The walk is accessible and will last approximately 1 hour.
All donations received for this walk will be in aid of Sustain food bank.
